History

The course was originally developed in 2014 at the Centre for the Mathematical Modelling of Infectious Diseases (CMMID) at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine. Anton Camacho and Sebastian Funk wrote the first version in R, which is archived on GitHub.

We rewrote the course in Julia in 2026. We have borrowed elements of the structure, presentation and framing of this site from NFIDD, a course on nowcasting and forecasting infectious disease dynamics (MIT licensed).
